Who is Ron Washburn?

“He’s just this guy, you know?”

I grew up in the wild lands of the Jornada del Muerto in southern New Mexico. I raised horses, tended my windmill, and ran my ranch until I graduated from New Mexico State University, where I also worked until my retirement from Space Management. I’ve been writing since I was old enough to read. In addition to writing, I’ve also done some acting. I’ve been in a handful of short films and plays, including acting as Buffalo Bill Cody in Mark Medoff’s production of Annie Get Your Gun. I have since retired from ranching as well, trading in my stirrups for Harley-Davidson motorcycle foot pegs. I now write full time.
My stories range from westerns to science fiction and fantasy, but there’s a twist. Each book is only a small slice of the larger story I’m writing that encompasses all of them. They are all related in a mult-genre odyssey. Each book is a separate and complete story, so it is possible to pick one up and read it as a stand-alone. However, if you read more than one in my collection, which I call the “Alternate Universe” series, you will begin to see how they are connected. Beware, this extended and growing series is extremely complicated in its entirety. I call it “Literary convolution.” My most successful book to date is A Reckoning in Goldenburg, which I have adapted for screen.
